Deskripsi
Public rental apartments (Rusunawa) are one of the affordable vertical housing options available mainly to low-income individuals in Indonesia provided by the central government, local governments, and private corporations. Most of the Rusunawa provided by the central government are low-rise Rusunawa up to four storeys in height. Presently, the Indonesian government's objective to minimize CO₂ emissions is yet to be fully realized due to inadequate consideration given to the life cycle assessment of CO₂ emissions in the prototype design of Rusunawa public rental apartments. It is imperative to address this gap and incorporate this requirement in the design to establish low-energy public rental apartments in Indonesia. The main objective of this thesis is to provide environmental impact baseline on existing Rusunawa and to develop approaches to optimize the life cycle CO₂ emissions (LCCO₂) for an improved future Rusunawa design. Several studies are conducted in this research to achieve the main objective.
